Hugo Systems was founded in Utawala, Nairobi with a simple observation: most technology sold to Kenyan businesses is designed for other markets and adapted as an afterthought. Payment systems that fail when the internet drops. POS terminals that cannot handle M-Pesa STK Push. Software that assumes reliable power and fast broadband.
We build differently. Our Hugo POS terminal works offline-first, syncing transactions when connectivity returns. Our HugoWiFi platform handles ISP billing for small operators who cannot afford enterprise solutions. Our web development team builds custom applications — not templates — for businesses that need tools built for their specific workflows.
Through Hugo Academy, we also train the next generation of tech professionals — teaching POS operations, FinTech API development, and full-stack engineering to Nairobi's growing tech community.
